Operation Ajay Update: 2nd Flight Safely Brings 235 Indian Nationals Back to Delhi

In a significant development, the second flight under Operation Ajay safely landed in Delhi, carrying 235 Indian nationals who were evacuated from Israel amidst the Israel-Palestine conflict. This operation was initiated to ensure the safe return of those wishing to come back home following recent brazen attacks by Hamas militants on Israeli towns.

The flight, carrying 235 Indian nationals, including 2 children, arrived in Delhi on Saturday. The evacuation process began on Thursday, organized by India to facilitate the return of its citizens affected by the escalating conflict in the region.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) welcomed the Indian nationals at the airport. Operation Ajay was launched in response to the increasing hostilities in the region, aiming to repatriate Indian citizens and ensure their safety.

Indian authorities have been actively coordinating the evacuation, sending email notifications to registered citizens for the special flight today. Those registered will be informed about subsequent flights, prioritizing the safe return of all Indian nationals stranded in Israel.

Ben Gurion International Airport, the main international airport of Israel, witnessed the departure of the second flight at 11:02 local time, continuing the evacuation efforts. The government bears the cost of the return for those Indians who have registered on the mission’s database.

The Indian embassy in Israel has set up a helpline and is actively supporting Indian citizens and companies during these challenging times. There are approximately 18,000 Indian nationals residing and working in Israel, including students, IT professionals, and diamond traders.
