Elon Musk has once again claimed the title of the “wealthiest person in the US.” The Tesla CEO secured the top spot on the Forbes 400 ranking of the richest individuals in America for the second consecutive year. His estimated net worth remains unchanged at USD 251 billion, marking a tumultuous journey to maintain his status on the Forbes 400 Richest Americans List 2023.

In contrast, former US President Donald Trump faced a setback in his ongoing Presidential bid as his net worth declined by over USD 600 million. Forbes now values Donald Trump’s net worth at USD 2.6 billion.

He currently faces a civil fraud trial in New York, accused of inflating the values of his assets to secure favorable loan and insurance terms. The trial commenced on October 2, 2023, and is anticipated to last three months.

The Forbes 400 is a compilation of self-made multi-billionaires, with 70% of the 2023 listees—279 individuals—having amassed their fortunes through their efforts rather than through inheritance.

Forbes unveiled the Forbes 400 Richest Americans List 2023, featuring both familiar names and newcomers. The complete Forbes 400 list of the wealthiest Americans for 2023 is available for reference.

In the rankings, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos follows Elon Musk as the second-wealthiest individual on the Forbes 400 Richest Americans List 2023, boasting a net worth of USD 161 billion.

Warren Buffet secures the fourth position with a net worth of USD 121 billion. Microsoft titan Bill Gates and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg also occupy prominent positions on the list, ranking No. 6 and No. 8, respectively.

Notably, former NBA star Michael Jordan is a new addition, claiming the No. 379 spot with a net worth of USD 3 billion.
