The National Testing Agency (NTA) has initiated the registration process for the CSIR UGC NET Examination December 2023. This examination is conducted to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and for Lectureship (LS) or Assistant Professor positions in Indian Universities and Colleges through a Computer-Based Test (CBT). Interested candidates can submit their applications on the official website, https://csirnet.nta.ac.in/. The deadline for online application submission is November 11, 2023, and the examination is scheduled for December 26, 27, and December 28, 2023.

CSIR UGC NET Exam Pattern
The CSIR UGC NET exam consists of three parts, all comprising objective-type multiple-choice questions. There will be no breaks between the papers. The examination for Chemical Sciences requires candidates to answer a maximum of 15, 35, and 25 questions from Part-A, Part-B, and Part-C, respectively. If more questions are answered than required, only the first 15, 35, and 25 questions in each section will be considered for evaluation.
Application Fee
Applicants can make payments using net banking, debit/credit card, or UPI. The application fee varies based on the category of the candidate:
- General: INR 1100
- General-EWS/OBC(NCL): INR 550
- SC/ST: INR 275
- Third gender: INR 275
- PwD (Persons with Disability): No application fee
Educational Qualifications
To be eligible for the CSIR UGC NET December 2023, candidates must have one of the following qualifications:
- M.Sc. or equivalent degree
- Integrated BS-MS
- BS-4 years
- BE/B. Tech
- B. Pharma
- MBBS
General (UR)/General-EWS candidates must have a minimum of 55% marks, while OBC (NCL), SC, ST, Third gender, and Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates must have a minimum of 50% marks. Candidates enrolled for M.Sc. or those who have completed 10+2+3 years of the qualifying examination can also apply under the Result Awaited (RA) category, with the condition that they complete their degree within two years from the date of the Joint CSIR-UGC NET Test result.
