The Delhi government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, has announced a Diwali bonus for its employees.
Arvind Kejriwal expressed his gratitude to the dedicated employees, acknowledging their pivotal role in transforming Delhi over the past eight years.
The Diwali bonus will be a gift of Rs 7,000 for all Group B Non-Gazetted and Group C employees in the Delhi government. This announcement is set to double the festive joy in the homes of the government employees.
Approximately 80,000 Group B and Group C employees will benefit from this bonus, with the total cost estimated at Rs 56 crore.
The Delhi government’s decision to provide this bonus underscores their commitment to improving the lives of their employees and recognizing their hard work.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal extended his warm Diwali greetings to all the employees and residents of Delhi, spreading the festive cheer.
It’s important to note that the Uttar Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, had also announced a Diwali bonus and increased dearness allowance for state employees earlier in the month. This initiative will benefit over 14 lakh state employees.
The increased dearness allowance will elevate the financial benefits for state employees, teachers, and pensioners. The state government’s financial commitment towards this initiative is approximately Rs 300 crore per month, highlighting their dedication to the welfare of their employees.
The central government had also recently announced a four percent dearness allowance for its employees, with the Yogi government now following suit by offering a similar increase in dearness allowance for state employees, taking it from 42% to 46%.
In conclusion, these Diwali bonuses and increased dearness allowances reflect the commitment of governments at different levels to appreciate the dedication and hard work of their employees during the festive season. It’s a gesture of goodwill and recognition of their contributions to public service.
