In a tragic incident, a suicide blast near a mosque in Pakistan’s Balochistan province has left at least 15 people dead and more than 50 others injured. The explosion occurred as people were gathering to celebrate the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad, known as Eid Miladun Nabi. Among the casualties was Mastung’s Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Nawaz Gashkori, who was on duty for the rally.
The blast took place near Madina Mosque in the Mastung district of Balochistan, casting a pall over the festive occasion. According to City Station House Officer (SHO) Mohammad Javed Lehri, the explosion was a “suicide blast,” with the attacker detonating himself next to the DSP’s car.
The tragic incident occurred as people were gathered to mark Eid Milad un Nabi, a significant religious event that commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad. The explosion has shocked the community, turning a day of celebration into one of mourning.
The blast resulted in the loss of 15 lives, including a police officer, with many others sustaining injuries. Some of the injured victims are reported to be in critical condition.

Balochistan interim Information Minister Jan Achakzai mentioned that critically injured individuals were being transferred to Quetta. The interim Interior Minister Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti strongly condemned the blast. Balochistan’s caretaker Chief Minister Ali Mardan Domki has instructed authorities to apprehend those responsible for the attack. Balochistan interim Information Minister Jan Achakzai expressed the belief that the perpetrators aim to disrupt religious tolerance and peace in Balochistan with external support.
