During the recent surprise assault by Hamas from the Gaza Strip into southern Israel, Israeli Ambassador to the United States, Michael Herzog, has disclosed that an unspecified number of Americans are among the hostages held by the Palestinian terror group.
When asked about the presence of Americans among the soldiers and civilians kidnapped by Hamas, Herzog responded on CBS News, “I understand there are, but I don’t have details.”
On Sunday, Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated that the US administration is actively investigating reports of American citizens among the casualties and captives resulting from the unexpected Hamas attack, which commenced on Saturday.
While Israel has confirmed that the attackers have taken both soldiers and civilians hostage, the exact numbers and nationalities of those held remain unconfirmed.
