Patna, India: A distressing incident unfolded at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Patna, where a confrontation occurred between security guards and the family of a cancer patient regarding hospital admission.
Approximately five security guards surrounded a family member of the cancer patient, subjecting him to a brutal beating with sticks, as captured in recently surfaced visuals.
The shocking incident was documented on a bystander’s phone, who pleaded with the guards to stop their actions. They ceased only after the victim lost consciousness.
The victim’s distraught family members desperately cried for help while the guards eventually walked away.
The victim’s family alleges that the man succumbed to the injuries inflicted by the guards. However, Dr. GK Paul, the Director of AIIMS Patna, attributed the altercation to a shortage of beds and confirmed that no one had died in the incident.
After assaulting the man, the guards left the scene, abandoning the stick they had used. Onlookers at the hospital premises checked the man’s pulse and sadly declared that he had passed away.
The Officer-in-charge of Phulwari police station stated that no formal complaint had been lodged with the police, and he was unaware of the video’s content.
