The superstar’s two blockbuster films, ‘Pathaan‘ and ‘Jawan,’ have collectively propelled him to this unprecedented milestone.
In a report by industry tracker sacnilk, it’s revealed that Shahrukh Khan’s year began with a bang as ‘Pathaan,’ part of the YRF Spy Universe, raked in over ₹1055 crores worldwide. The film’s Indian earnings stood at ₹658 crores, while overseas collections reached ₹397 crores. However, Shah Rukh’s journey to ₹2000 crores was not complete without the incredible success of ‘Jawan.’
‘Jawan,’ which is setting new records daily, has already grossed over ₹945 crores in just 16 days, with ₹640 crores coming from India alone. According to sacnilk’s projections, ‘Jawan‘ is poised to cross ₹1150 crores by the time ‘Dunki‘ is released on December 22nd. With no major releases in competition, it’s expected to add another ₹500 to ₹550 crores in its first ten days, bringing Shah Rukh’s 2023 earnings to around ₹2700 crores.
It’s worth noting that these impressive figures are solely from box office collections. When factoring in satellite, OTT, and music rights, the total revenue is expected to soar even higher. Netflix secured the digital rights to ‘Jawan‘ for a whopping ₹250 crores, and the film’s satellite rights were acquired by Zee Studio for ₹80 crores, according to Sista.com.
‘Jawan’ has taken the Indian box office by storm, shattering records with each passing day. With no major competition in sight this week, the film is expected to continue its impressive run.
