Director Lokesh Kanagaraj, basking in the mega success of “Leo” starring Thalapathy Vijay, has responded to public feedback about the film’s second half. While “Leo” has crossed the 500 crores gross mark worldwide in just 10 days, Kanagaraj is already planning the next chapter in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU).
During the trailer launch event of Karthi’s “Japan,” the director openly admitted to the flaws in “Leo” and pledged to deliver a more robust cinematic experience in “Kaithi 2,” the next installment in the LCU.
Kanagaraj revealed that he wrote “Leo” five years ago and preferred not to alter the script significantly, despite the feedback. He assured fans that “Kaithi 2” would surpass his previous films in terms of strength and impact.
In addition to addressing the film’s reception, Kanagaraj mentioned that Thalapathy Vijay is pleased with “Leo’s” success and acknowledged the enthusiastic response of the audience during theatrical screenings.
The success celebration for “Leo” is on the horizon, and Lokesh Kanagaraj plans to provide a post-release interview to delve into the theories within the Lokesh Cinematic Universe depicted in the film.
In the future, the accomplished filmmaker is set to direct superstar Rajinikanth, with shooting scheduled to commence around March next year.
